Testing and Censorship

The NY State Regents' English exam includes excerpts from modern literature for the purpose of testing writing and reading competency. However, the NY Civil Liberties Union has charged that the Board signficantly alters these excerpts to remove racial and sexual references and other references deemed potentially offensive.
